1. Avoid advertising like a large conglomerate –
Whether you are a travel agency or an accounting firm, understand that the scalability and marketing objectives of a smaller firm or business is much different from that of established companies. Larger businesses advertise to create brand awareness and can afford future sales. Small businesses need to implement marketing projects which ensure immediate sales. Include offers in your advertising or any other call to action. This is an effective way to have prospective customers respond to your communications.
2. Pricing –
Customers are much more sensitive to the price of a product or service of a less established or smaller brand. While some may simply not be willing to pay the asking price for your offering, others may be willing to purchase your offering at a lower price. During this phase of your business, avoid losing any sales by offering them competitive prices as long as they experience your product or service.
3. Quality –
There is also a segment of customers who may be willing to pay a higher price as long as the product or service that you offer is of premium quality. Help increase your average size sales by simultaneously offering a more comprehensive offering, which combines range of products or services in the form of packages. Consider offering annual memberships for your spa or salon.
4. Get Creative
Try to employ unconventional marketing methodologies to attract the attention of your target audience. You may be able to identify some cost effective and innovative mediums which may have been overlooked by your competitors.
5. The Size of your Ads
Since the focus is to continue advertising without making any additional expenses, try to save by reducing the size of your ads. You may even realize that sometimes smaller and crisper copies tend to generate better results.
6. Joint Promotions –
Just like you would get into deals with other websites online to link back to your pages for a joint promotion, you can come up with similar strategies for physical marketing as well. Associate yourself with other brands which compliment your business and implement joint promotional projects which benefit all parties involved.
7. Leveraging your Existing Customers
It is a lot easier to get an existing customer to buy your offerings again than generating new clientele. Pamper your current customer base and make sure you are able to maintain a stable sale turnover from them.
You can make your own customers your publicity agents. Give them an incentive to refer from clients to you, and make smart use of the internet to promote your business without spending too many dollars.
