These days almost all the software companies release the latest updates for there software. Starting from the Adobe to Microsoft. This is very important in today's world as it makes sure that your computer is up to date and is protected from the malicious software which keeps trying to creep in to your computer. There are different forms of updates that comes in to the computer and it is the sole responsibility of the Windows Update Agent to make sure that all the updates are installed on your computer. Though the windows updates at time does not work properly at times and so in that case you have to update the Windows Update Agent and the latest version of Windows update is available on the Windows Update center.
Step 1
In order to make the windows update agent is working please make sure to .net frame work installed. To download the .net frame work please go to the Microsoft website and then download the latest version of .net frame work.
Step 2
In case you are facing difficulties in locating the .net frame work please look for the .net frame work 4 and you should find it on the Microsoft website. Once you have downloaded the .net frame work now go to the control panel.
Step 3
Please search for the Windows update and then look for the latest update. You may have difficulties in downloading the updates manually if you have the any other browser set as the default browser. Please set the Internet explorer as the default browser.

If you want to se Internet explorer as the default browser please launch the browser and then click on the Tools, if you are facing difficulty locating tools please press alt+O.
Step 5
Please click on the one that says Internet option which is the last one in the list. Now click on the program tab and the first option should come as the Make default on the right hand side. Click on it and this should mark it as the default.
Step 6
Please go to the windows update and then download the updates. This should check your Windows Update agent and should automatically download the latest version for you.
Step 7
How ever if you are still facing any difficulties please search for the Microsoft article 949104 and then download the hot fix that pop up on the screen. This should automatically bring the computer back to the normal updates without any errors.
