How to optimize your website or blog to be well-positioned regionally

Many professionals working in the digital marketing market are still unaware of the importance of the regionalized positioning of their website, blog, or e-commerce. I tend to hear the arguments of some who claim that their objective is not local, it is national or even global and that is why they do not use tools like the ones we will discuss here. In my opinion, any opportunity to appear well-positioned cannot be missed, and even if a strategy serves a single city, it is still valid. We must also consider companies that operate only locally, such as offline retail stores, service providers, hotels, restaurants, among others. For them, being well-positioned regionally is essential, and it is for these reasons that I decided to write this article. We will discuss here two basic strategies: Inclusion of your site in Google Maps (or Google Places), and use of regional directories. 1. ADD YOUR WEBSITE TO GOOGLE MAPSrnGoogle Maps is a free search and visualization service for maps and satellite images provided and developed by Google. In addition to providing maps and routes to any point in India and in several other countries, it also offers the "Local Business Center", a tool that allows any company to register and then be found on Google Maps by any user, in addition, to appear prominently on Google searches. The Google Maps results appear in the searches when the user searches for "something, somewhere", that is, if you search only for "Hotel", it will have a generic result, however, if you search for "best digital marketing company in Udaipur", in addition to the Google organic search results, you will see a list of digital marketing service in Udaipur and their addresses registered on Maps. When registering, companies can fill in their registration data, opening hours, payment methods, logo, and photos, requiring confirmation of the registration through a phone call, SMS, or letter. to do so, just go to the link www.google.com/maps and click on the left side of the screen, the link “Add Your Business”. It is necessary to have your login active on Google, using a Gmail account or any other account that you already use for the services offered by Google (Youtube, GoogleMail, Analytics, etc.). After you fill out the form with your location and choose the category that best describes your business or website. You write the telephone contact numbers and preferred payment option. You can also upload photos or videos. Once you have completed the steps above, you will have to verify your inclusion, and this can be done via SMS, phone, or postcard. After the verification is complete, your site will start appearing in local searches, in the city where you registered, or when someone from another city searches for your product or service in your city (for example, I live in Jaipur, but if you do a search for "best online marketing company in Udaipur", I will receive Google Maps results for a digital marketing company in Udaipur, even though I am connected in Jaipur) 2. LOCAL DIRECTORIES, CLASSIFIED SITES, AND YELLOW PAGESrnAnother interesting option is to include your website, blog, e-commerce, or even register your products and services in local directories, classifieds, and yellow pages, this will help in two ways. In addition to driving local traffic to your site, attracting a quality audience, you can still improve your positioning, as it will generate access to your site and also external links (backlinks). To find the relevant directories and classifieds in your region is very simple. Use Google itself! Just type in the search "Free classifieds in ..." or "Advertise Free ..." You will find hundreds of sites offering these services, free of charge, or even in a paid way for featured ads. For some sectors it is easy to find even directories specialized in a specific niche, as is the case with exclusive sites for advertising hotels, others for automobiles, some focused on the commerce of a specific neighborhood or a specific sector.
