These days, breast cancer has become a matter of huge concern. Though there has been a lot of improvement in the treatment and there are even better ways to prevent them. One needs to keep in check some simple things on order to avoid the chance of getting affected by breast cancer. Keep Weight in Check You need to maintain a healthy body weight throughout. This is a very important thing. If you are overweight then you need to check it right now because being obese can always increase the risk of different types of cancer. In fact, women should be more careful about it after menopause. Be Physically Active Being physically active does not mean you have to hit the gym every day. But yes, keeping your body flexible is what you need. If you are physically active like doing brisk walking or light jogging for 30 minutes on a regular basis then there is a lower risk of breast cancer. You can also go for light exercise regime which can help. Eat Your Fruits & Vegetables and Avoid Too Much Alcohol Having a healthy diet plan is another important thing you need. But yes, quitting it is always the best thi8ng you can do to prevent cancers. Don’t Smoke Smokers do know that how unhealthy it is. They also know that they should quit it immediately. This can increase the rate of heart disease, cancers along with early wrinkles on your skin. So, no matter what, smoking is not a good idea. If you are smoke free, you have a better life. Breastfeed, If Possible Post delivery; try to feed your baby with your breast milk. If you can breastfeed your child for at least a year, there is a lesser chance that you will get affected by breast cancer. Avoid Birth Control Pills, Particularly After Age 35 or If You Smoke These days, women always try to go for birth control pills. It has certain advantages but some disadvantages as well. These pills can actually increase the risk of breast cancer. At the same time, it also increases the risk of heart attacks and strokes. So, long term use of these pills is a strict no. You can use them for a short term if you really need it. Avoid Post-Menopausal Hormones These should not be taken on a long term to prevent chronic diseases. This is because; it has a mixed effect on health and some are bad. It can also increase the risk of breast cancer. One can go for mammography at breast cancer hospital in India if needed.
