Monitor is the most essential part of every computer setup. Monitor is an output device which enables a user to view graphical representation of data entered by user for processing and the result generated by CPU. In this article I have listed some of the common monitor problems people faces and the methods which they must adopt for resolving them. • Monitor doesn’t display anything:rnThe most common reason for this problem is insufficient power supply. In most of the cases defected power outlet is the main culprit. For resolution change the power outlet. If you still have the problem then you must change connecting chord it is defected and thus sufficient power is not received by the Monitor. • Monitor screen is blank:rnThere are many reason which causes blank screen monitor. Sometime when you run multiple heavy graphic application on your computer which is above your computer hardware’s capability and after sometime graphics card get overheated which results in sudden problem in the computer. Even in computer heavy fans are deployed to maintain the temperature inside the computer but it can’t handle for long time and after sometime it will result in computer shutdown and monitor blank screen. • Monitor screen flickers:rnScreen flickering is the very popular problem on CRT monitors. This problem is caused when a monitor is continuously exposed to the device which radiates magnetic radiations. Sometime electronic devices like mobile radiate electromagnetic waves which causes electromagnetic interference. • Monitor screen contains contiguous horizontal lines:rnIn some of the cases it has been noticed that monitor screen contains horizontal lines spread over the whole screen. This problem is caused due to faulty synchronization circuits present in the CRT monitor. For eliminating this problem you can try these steps:rn1. First of all check monitor is plugged properly to the power outlet and fix any splices if exist.rn2. Configure the display settings, set screen refresh rate and color settings recommended by manufacturer.rn3. Now cold restart monitor and your computer.rn4. Try to make changes through the built in menus.rn5. If the monitor problem still persist then plug your monitor in your friend’s computer and if displays the same problem then your monitor’s life ends up here and now you have to spend some money to buy a new monitor. • Monitor contains a black line on the screen:rnMonitor screen is made up of synchronized arrangement of pixels in a matrix. Pixel is also known as the smallest unit of display which is responsible for producing image on the monitor screen. This problem is caused due to control circuit failure attached to the concerned row. Every row and column bears a control circuit. Both of the control circuits are synchronized together to produce three color intensities in a pixel. It can be easily fixed by the manufacturer if your computer is under warranty period. If warranty period is expired then you have no other option and you have to purchase a new one.rnPrecaution: Don’t try to diagnose monitor problem by yourself as it contains many active and passive components which are charged with heavy voltage even after the supply is turned off. They also emit harmful radiations which are very hazardous for human health.rnThus by following the above mentioned solutions I hope you can easily resolve all monitor problem.
