Conversion rate is basically when your website has been able to convert a visitor or a potential client into a Customer. Now this is a broader term it could also mean if your website directs the user to perform an action and the user performs it. Now conversion rates are important as this is a major parameter to measure the success of a website especially an eCommerce website.

So how can you work on your website conversion rates and tip the scales to your side. Visibility and conversion rates are quite interdependent and hence they are important to each other. In this article we will discuss how to work on the conversion rates and improve your performance.

1. Brand value: Building a brand is essential to increasing the conversion rates on your website. You can begin a brand recognition campaign by building a logo for your business. Add a catchy tagline to it and you have the perfect tool for instant recognition. Check out all the big cheese in any industry, most people would easily associate the logo and tagline to the company. That is the kind of brand value you should attain.

2. Headlines: Whether you scan though a newspaper or a website you’ll probably remember only the headlines and that too the catchy one and that’s about all you’ll read while scanning. But once you’ve found something interesting you would read the entire piece of news or the paragraph that follows the headline. So this behavior pattern can be applied it to websites. Catchy headlines would definitely attract more traffic and fetch you better returns.

Incentives and contests can also be added to the list of attention seekers that can be employed to improve traffic and then a compulsive website would help convert these potential customers into long-term customers.Also remember discounts are the best bait for shoppers! But remember to keep it for a specific time period to see the results.

Customer Service: An efficient and round the clock customer service which has been forever ready to understand and resolve the issues of the customers are well appreciated and spread a goodwill among others. Therefore work on a foolproof customer service to redress all your customer queries and you’ll soon have a very loyal customer base.

5. Consider a Return Policy: Several businesses, actually most internet businesses don’t have a return policy. Now this could make your customers quite skeptical as they would not take the risk of buying something off the internet (which means they don’t get to touch or see it for real and so are quite unsure about the product) without the assurance of returning it if the product does not fulfill their criteria. So make a precise and clear return policy that would make your customers confident and they would trust you. This would fetch you better results in the long run.

6. The Design Factor: Ultimately the entire design of your website plays a major role 9in determining the the success of a website. Remember to use fonts and colors effectively so that they nail the message without overdoing anything. Remember to keep in sync with the market trends but focus on usability and user interface to get the perfect website. A website which is attractive, stunning implements all the functionality and has good visibility.
