Selecting a pipe to use is a complex decision to make, especially for new smokers who have not used many of the different available styles. Walking in to a smoke shop and seeing the walls of hookahs, glass water pipes and bubblers, metal pipes and small or chunky glass pipes can be overwhelming to those who don’t know what they’re looking for. To help make your decision easier, here are some points to think about before you buy a pipe.

The aesthetics. Of course it is not just the taste that makes smoking satisfying; you also have to enjoy the look and feel of your pipe. Many smokers prefer the colorful swirls of glass blown pipes that darken over time with regular use of the pipe. The transparency of glass pipes also allow you to see the smoke, which many enjoy. Glass pipes are easy to make, so they come in an infinite variety of colors and designs. Take time to find one that you enjoy the look and feel of if this is the style you decide on. Check out as many interesting selections of pipes as you can.

How it is made. Your chosen pipe should be constructed in a way that it will not only be enjoyable to use and pretty to look at, but also something that is built to last. Generally, the more intricate something is the more likely it is to break. Intricate pipes are also much more difficult to clean. These pipes are beautiful but they are not terribly practical. This is one disadvantage of glass pipes and water pipes. Metal and wooden pipes are not always as colorful as glass, but they are much more durable. Wooden pipes can also be carved with designs to make them more decorative. Check out the parts of the pipes if they can be disassembled or not, this makes a big difference in how easy they are to clean. If they can be taken apart, check to make sure all the pieces align properly and are easy to put back together.

There are a lot of well-made pipes and you should check each detail of your pipe before you purchase. The weight of the pipe also matters. Usually the lighter the pipe is, the better it smokes. Also, they are more convenient to carry around with you and hold. Larger pipes often hold more tobacco, but are more of a nuisance to travel with.

How much will it cost. Another step in choosing a pipe is to ask yourself: Can you afford one of those beautiful water pipes for sale? Cheaper pipes do not always mean lower quality. Pipes range widely in price depending on where you are. Also, make sure you check online for the style you pipe you want. Many pipes are cheaper from online vendors than from stores. If you take time to shop around, you should be able to find a great pipe that fits your budget.
