BT Home Phone is the most widely used provider in the UK for this service with many households being connected to them. They also offer broadband and digital television deals, which can be bundled together with the calls package and line rental to help customers save even more money.

The home phone signup is very quick and easy to do. There are various different calls packages to choose from, so there is something to suit all types of home phone users. You will need to take out the line rental service with them to start with, which costs £120 per year when opting for the Line Rental Saver option. This needs to be paid by card in one go, but is the cheapest option as it saves £55.20 per year and equivalently costs only £10 per month, making it very affordable. Direct debit makes payments very quick and easy, so you do not have to remember to do it manually. You can save paper by getting your bills sent to you online via email, allowing you to access them wherever you have an internet connection. You can also have the option to pay monthly if you prefer, which costs £14.60 per month.

The BT Home Phone Unlimited Weekend Calling Plan does not cost anything extra on top of the line rental fees. It includes free calls to UK landlines between midnight on Friday to midnight on Sunday, so is ideal for people who make calls between these times and perhaps work full time or are away a lot during the week.

Unlimited Evening and Weekend Calls is also suitable for those who work full time and make calls during the evenings and weekends only, as opposed to the daytimes as well. This costs just £3.15 extra per month and offers free calls between 7pm to 7am on Mondays to Fridays, as well as all weekend.

The most expensive option is the Unlimited Anytime calling plan, which costs £4.90 extra per month on top of the line rental fee. This is free for the first three months at the moment, saving you some extra money. You can make free calls to UK landlines at any time, so is suitable for people who make a lot of calls, including during the daytimes, as well as evenings and weekends.

All of the calling plans also include three calling features for free, so you can choose which ones to have. They also have inclusive calls to 0845 and 0870 numbers, which often cost quite a bit to phone, such as from a mobile phone. Be sure to read all of the terms and conditions before signing up to ensure that you are fully aware of everything involved and that you have chosen the right home phone option for you.
