After all, many women are not happy about their appearance. But when your obsession with your body leads to self-starvation or surgical complications, you need to take a step back and give yourself an honest assessment.

The bottom line is when you view yourself negatively; your self-confidence may crumble and along with it, your health. Here are four steps that can help you improve your opinions about your body.

Look At Yourself In The Mirror

It's no use being self-critical. Being judgmental about yourself will only drive your self-esteem into a low point. What you need is a chance to look at yourself in a more objective manner. By looking at your image in a full-length mirror, you will be able to see all the features of your body, good or bad.

Spending time in front of the mirror is your first step at being more comfortable with yourself. The key here is to stay away from being mean and harsh on your perception about yourself. For instance, instead of saying that you have unsightly cellulite on your thighs, you can say that your lower hip area is round and dimpled. Along the way, this mirror examination will allow you to be gentler on yourself.

Trace Your Body On Paper

A good way to improve the way you look at yourself is to literally compare what you think is your body's appearance with your actual body shape. To do this, you need two large sheets of paper pinned to a wall; each sheet should approximate your body size. On the first one, using a marker pen, draw an outline of what you think is your body shape. On the second sheet, allow your friend or family member to trace your actual figure. Then, examine the results.

This little exercise will allow you to see your real body shape. And chances are, you will realize that your actual figure is not as bad as the way you see yourself. You see, there is always a tendency for women, some men as well, to view their bodies in a depreciated kind of way.

Block Negative Ideas About Yourself

The biggest nagger in your life, believe it or not, is you. If you can put in a bank all the bad things that you say about your body, you'd be a millionaire in a few weeks. And the ultimate victim of all the fault-finding that you do to yourself is you because you will only allow your self-esteem to collapse.

Be easy on yourself. You can always block the negative ideas about your body. When you think that your conscious mind is about to start picking on all the negative aspects of your body, you must try to refocus your thoughts to more positive remarks. Some people even use mantras or chants just to block negative thoughts. In the end, doing this will help you see your body's positive aspects and you will be kinder to yourself too.

Indeed, most women place great importance on their looks and, often, they are not happy about their figure. If you are one of them, there is no need for you to be harsh on yourself much less feel angry about your body shape. You must know the aspects of your body that you do not like and try to improve them.

For instance, if having small breasts makes you feel down, then by all means have them enlarged. But do remember that the natural way is often the safest and most economical; so for your bosom, use products like Clevastin.
