Today we will discuss several simple tips to stop gerd now

In our battle against the Gerd Monster we much research our opponent, What is Gerd? In a nutshell, Gerd exists when acids from the stomach ends up in the Esophagus.and Symptoms are produced such as heartburn, belching, burping, vomiting, and regurgitation. The food which we eat plays a large role in this scenario, which will be discussed later.

How does acid enter the esophagus? This happens when the esophageal muscle does not close properly. Let's move on and find out How to stop Gerd now.

The first tip is very simple but often overlooked - When enjoying your meals or snacks, take your time chew your food completely. Experts say chew the contents of your mouth between 15 to 30 times before swallowing. This helps aid the digestion process. Smaller pieces are broken down faster which,in turn, results in less acid in the stomach.

Tip # 2 - Eat in smaller quantity. No more large meals! Large meals sit in your stomach longer and require more acid to digest. If, after a smaller meal you"re still hungry you may need to add several snacks in your daily meal plan.

Tip# 3- Sit erect Your posture effects how well your food is digested. Remember a straight line is the shortest distance. The same applies here Sit as straight as possible and no bending down for at least 30 to 60 mins after your meal.

Tip# 4 -Avoid foods known to give an upset stomach if you suffer from gerd. Fried foods, alcohol, carbonated drinks, chocolate, and all types of spicy foods and citrus fruits should be avoided.

Tip# 5- Never lie down right after a meal Remember Tip#3 the straight line theory? When you lie flat, it may lead to indigestion and increases stomach acid. Expert say wait at least 3 hrs before lying down after a meal.

Tip" 6- Keep your weight dow
Added weight increases pressure on the stomach which, in turn, makes it easier for acids to enter the esophagus.

Tip # 7- Quit Smoking Smoking causes the Esophagus to relax making it easier for acid to be introduced from the stomach.

Tip#8- Don't Wear tight fitting clothes. This can also impede the digestion process.

Tip#9- Never drink liquids too fast, Just as it is important to take your time chewing your food chugging can cause you to swallow Excess air, causes belching and burping another problem common to gerd sufferers
