It happens to the best of us. Underarm sweating, I mean. After all, we’re only human. We have pores and we need to sweat in order to release toxins. However, there are times when we really need to know how to stop underarm sweating before it embarrasses the wits out of us.
And I’m sure you agree. There are times when you’re trying to present a report to the board of trustees, or times when you’re talking to someone you greatly admire - these are moments when knowing how to stop underarm sweating can be really crucial to your career and relationships.
Thankfully, there are various ways on how to stop underarm sweating and avoid being embarrassed as well. If you’re interested, read on.
1) Avoid Spicy Foods.
Personally, I love eating spicy foods. However, one effect of eating spicy food is a runny nose. Another is underarm sweat.
This is largely due to the Capsaicin ingredient found in many spicy dishes. This is considered to be an irritant to mammals. If you know you’re going to do a presentation today and you want to stop underarm sweat, don’t be tempted by those chili dogs.
2) Know the Difference Between a Deodorant and Anti-Perspirant.
Surprisingly, a lot of people seem to think that deodorants and antiperspirants have the same function. Although there are products which combine the two functions together, a lot of consumers make the mistake of buying products which act as deodorants only.
If your main goal is targeted on how to stop underarm sweating, look for the label with antiperspirant (or something that contains aluminum chlorohydrate or aluminum zirconium). Don’t just buy something you saw on television without even reading the label.
However, take note that not everyone gets the same results from anti-perspirants. Some people who are highly emotional or who have excessive underarm sweating may still perspire despite applying them.
3) Practice Breathing Exercises.
As excessive underarm perspiration may sometimes be caused by emotional stressors (and these can be difficult to control), you can at least lessen the damage by doing breathing exercises. These exercises can keep you cool and calm, which in turn, help you to stop armpit sweating. It also helps not to think of pressure as well.
While there are many more ways on how to stop underarm sweating, keep in mind that this is quite natural and is the body’s way of releasing toxins. Unless the sweating is excessive, it’s probably best to leave things as they are.
