Communication plays an important role in providing appropriate training to your dog. They understand your gestures and stop behaving wildly. Your actions and your voice can prevent them from biting people and children. When the dog bites while playing, instead of shouting you can give a dog stern look which will make dog aware of your pain. Divert Attention:- Try to divert his attention from biting you to something else like give him some toy to chew and play around. - Positive Reinforcement - Give positive reinforcement to your dog like praise him while playing when he does not bites. The praise can be in form of pat on the head or belly. Positive reinforcement is great way to express or appreciate the non-biting behavior of your dog. - Be Consistent with your dog – Try being consistent to your dog so as to eradicate his bad habit. While playing or like wise whenever your dog bites, say "no" in stern voice and give him bit tough looks, so that he understands in well way what you mean. In this way he will improve and will develop clear image in his mind and will remember it every time before he tries to bite. - Avoid too much playfulness- Dogs generally have a habit of being too playful and this kind of behavior might be cute to look and you also may feel like playing with him but it can take shape of roughness at time. So it’s better to avoid playing too much with dogs. A lot of people ignore a dog’s biting on the assumption that it is just "child's play." You have to realize that a dog’s biting is not a game but the dog’s aggressive display to impose dominance. This normally happens in a pack or a litter when dogs try to assert their position, using its teeth to threaten its rivals. Since dogs already display this behavior, they should be prevented from doing it while they are yet dogs. Persistent biting behavior in dogs will surely worsen as they mature into adulthood. This behavior makes the dog prone to bite its owner to assert its dominance as the leader of the pack. A dog that keeps on biting even at the age of one year must be referred to an expert. A mature dog that bites is a risk. You cannot discount its tendency to attack. In order to ensure that your dog won't bite as an adult, you see to it that they are not subjected to aggression or threat. Most mature dogs that are aggressive were victims of aggression themselves when they were young. Observe your dog keenly and be able to pinpoint the behavior in order to arrest them at once and to prevent it from becoming a major issue later in your dog's life.
