Cutting out or minimizing those foods in your diet is a big step towards clear skin.

Acne causing habits

Here are some habits that may contribute to your acne.

  • Sleeping late. The human body is designed to synchronize with the natural day-night rhythm. If you frequently stay up till wee hours and sleep late, your body is no longer balanced with nature. Research has shown that this contributes to hormonal imbalance and even weight gain for some people. Late sleepers also tend to have more stress and feel less energetic. - Looking down on yourself. Looking down and beating yourself is very common among acne patients - and no wonder since it's such a visible condition. Unfortunately this causes tremendous stress and can even contribute to your acne.

While it's difficult to change your sleep rhythms and how you treat yourself, both of these should be high on your to do list.

Kitchen cabinet remedies for acne

Your kitchen cabinet can be an acne-cure treasure trove. Here are some examples you can use:

  • Honey. Honey both cleanses the skin and prevents inflammation. Its anti-bacterial properties have been known for hundreds of years, and it's even used as wound dressing in some hospitals. Try replacing your daily cleanser with honey if you suffer from irritated and sensitive skin.
  • Lemon juice. Lemon juice contains the same skin-peeling alpha hydroxyl acid that many high-end acne treatment products do. Lemon juice can soften and peel away dead skin cells and keep your skin pores open. Use daily or a few times a week as a skin peel.
  • Baking soda and sea salt. If you have baking soda and sea salt, you don't need to pay for expensive skin scrubs. Simply mix baking soda and sea salt and use scrub.
  • Aspirin. Like lemon juice, aspirin contain acids that are commonly found in expensive skin-care products. Aspirin contains beta hydroxyl acid. Crush aspirin in a bowl, and mix it with little bit of honey. Scrub into the skin and allow to sit for 5 to 10 minutes. Aspirin opens the skin and honey gets rid of the acne-causing bacteria. Repeat 2 to 3 times a week.
