Cramps without a period can be very frustrating and upsetting. After all, when your period is late you might start thinking that you are pregnant or that you have a major medical problem. Well, the truth is that either of those things could be true, but it's not unusual for a woman to have a delayed period for reasons that are much simpler and less upsetting.
Other Reasons For Cramps Without Bleeding:
One of the other reasons for cramps without actual bleeding is just general stress. Any physical or emotional stress that you are under can easily create a delay in the onset of your period. That's especially true if you have been allowing your stress levels to get in the way of your eating and sleeping habits. So, once you calm down, your period should present itself.
Reactions to medications or minor illnesses can also delay your menstrual cycle. So, for example, constipation can sometimes cause a delay in your period. However, since constipation causes cramping, you might feel like your period is starting.
Ask Your Doctor:
If you have cramps with no period bleeding most months or every month, you should probably ask your doctor to rule certain things in or out. Some of those things include:
Endometriosisr
Ovarian Cystsr
Premature Ovarian Failurer
Reactions To Birth Control Pills
Provided that your doctor can rule those things out, you probably just have some sort of hormone imbalance. Again, that could simply be related to stress. If that's the case, you should try treating the problem naturally.
Vitamin And Mineral Supplements:
Vitamin and mineral supplements can often help your body to get back on track. B vitamins, such as B-6 and niacin, as well as vitami
K (potassium) and vitamins A and C can all help to regulate your body and keep menstruation and its symptoms under control. Almost all of those vitamins are great for your body at any time, but they can be extra beneficial during your period because they can reduce cramping, cut back on mood swings, relieve bloating and more.
Calcium and magnesium are also important. Both minerals can help to regulate your periods and reduce your symptoms and side effects. However, the best part is that they work extra well when used together and along with vitamins and herbs. Most man-made medications can't be mixed like that. They only treat one or two symptoms and you are expected to be happy enough with that.
Add Some Herbs:
You can also add some natural herbs to the mix, if you want the best results possible. Herbs like wild yam, black cohosh and damiana can all regulate hormone levels within your body. They can also help to reduce mood swings, water retention, back aches and other period symptoms.
The best way to get all of your vitamins, minerals and herbs is to take them together in one supplement. For example, Period Vitamin is a supplement that contains all of those natural elements and more. If you can combine that with a healthy diet, plenty of exercise and getting enough sleep, you'll have a winning combination and stop having to deal with cramps without a period anymore.
