Our feet may be one of the most stresses parts of our body. It would just be two things, it’s either you have really sweaty feet that moisten often even with open shoes or dry feet with breaking and cracking heels. Either way, the best approach in getting soft and supple feet that go well with any shoe or sandal is by treating them to a foot spa. I know what you’re thinking… expensive. Yes, it is expensive to maintain a weekly regimen just for your cute toes. However, there is also another way to keep your feet nice and smooth without spending too much and while multitasking as well. You can do it at home! Yes, when you’re watching that favourite show or just waiting for the clock strike for bedtime you can definitely pamper your toes, soles and ankles to a relaxing spa experience. All you need is a foot soak (any bath soap will do), foot scrub (any cream you have that has micro beads), foot lotion (any lotion can be used) foot spray (optional), and pumice.
Foot Soak

Prepare your soak solution by mixing 10ml of foot soak for every litre of water in a basin. Stir the solution until you get a bubble-bath like effect. Soak your feet for 8-15 minutes, you can use this time to watch TV or just listen to some music. After the short wait time, grab your pumice and start scrubbing down your foot one at a time in a gentle but effective manner. Concentrate on areas that have thicker skin like the soles and edges of your feet. Do this for about 5-10 minutes or until you feel a difference with the thick skin.

Foot Scrub

The next step is the foot scrub. You can use any scrub substance you have at home but it is recommended you use a foot scrub because of its great effects (nutrients, elements made esp. for thick sole skin). Using the scrub, squirt an ample amount onto your palms and massage one foot at a time still concentrating on areas that have thick skin. You can also make this step longer if you have your partner or friends massaging your feet because this releases stress, promotes good circulation and relaxation.

Foot Lotion

After the scrub you may now rinse your feet and wipe to dry. Using a foot lotion or any lotion you can now massage your feet again to re-hydrate and seep nutrients to your walking companion. This is important to make sure that your feet get moisturised and remain soft and smooth.

Foot Spray

After massaging, you may or may not apply foot spray. This helps re-hydrate your feet and adds moisturising qualities to the soles. You can also bring this with you when you go out to give your feet sprits every now and then to avoid cracked heels and soles.
