Decorating your home to welcome the freshness of spring is a great way to celebrate the colors of the season. Here are some ideas for edible Easter decor using a variety of sweet treats. You can make adorable marshmallow lambs as an Easter candy treat - to sit atop cupcakes or even as a decorative element on your Easter tablescape. For the lambs, place a large marshmallow and apply some white frosting to it. Press mini marshmallows all around to make a wooly coat while leaving a bit exposed as the face. Use pink jellybeans for the ears and purple ones for the feet. Use licorice to make the face and the lamb’s tail. Another delightful Easter candy creation is cute marshmallow cottontails. Glue together two large marshmallows one on top of the other using vanilla frosting. Tie some pink licorice around the middle of the stack to make a bow. Cut one large marshmallow lengthwise and use some pink frosting to fashion the ears. Make paws for the bunny using four mini-marshmallows and use some frosting to make the “cottontail”. Make the facial features using pink paste food coloring and licorice for the whiskers. A basketful of these bunnies and lambs in a setting of green sprinkles or moss would be lovely as a table centerpiece. Another fun centerpiece to bring in the playful vibes of springtime frolic is a countryside carrot crop. Take some waffle cones and brush a mixture of red and yellow food coloring on them and let dry. Make some cones with green cellophane and fill with Easter candy like marshmallows and jellybeans. Tie with green raffia and plant the cones on a container of rye grass. For a sweet twist on regular place cards, make these edible robin’s nest place cards a part of your Easter decor. Twist two or three laces of brown licorice together to create a round shape. Microwave this for a few seconds to soften the licorice and make it more pliable. This will form the nest in which you can place candy eggs. Your Easter decor can also extend itself to the outdoor area. Make an edible wreath using colored jelly beans stuck to a cake base with edible glue. Cut out the centre of a cake base to make it look like a wreath and use the glue to attach the beans. If you are thinking of an all-white decorating theme, use marshmallows and embellish with a bright red bow. rnUse these ideas to add a festive look to your décor.
