How to write the best romantic novel of 2011?

Every year thousands and thousands of romantic novels are published around the world, and hardly one percent of those make it as a best-seller, and out of that, only ten percent are worth saying “they were really good and moving”. I am sure every novel of Nora Roberts is filled with tears, joy and emotions, but I am talking about those others that lack a lot of substance and value in their story, but those books get published only for one reason: established authors. Let’s be honest with ourselves, not every novel by our favorite author is a core shaker or ground mover, but we still buy them, and make their work a best seller, why? Because these author have established themselves as core-shakers from their early works, or even early two three books they published. It is the following they have that makes each work a ‘New York Times Best Seller.’ But, in the battlefield of such professional, well established authors; there is still a place of the new rookies to make their mark, and some do do that. But majority of the problem for the small players are that they try to accomplish what others already have. They read the novels of their favorite authors, and they try their best to replicate their style and story telling techniques; this can only go so far in the game of creative writing and publishing. One must find their own approach and their own unique style to not only distinguish themselves as original, but to separate themselves from a crowd that can completely eclipse their talent. But the question remains, how do you separate yourself from your idol? It is a simple equation of your own reality. If you were writing a romantic novel, and you don’t have a story to make up, then don’t! It’s that simple. But, you must be wondering, why I left the answer unfinished? Let me answer it for you. Take that small portion of your life, whether it was two weeks, two months or two years, you can write so much as a first time writer when you dive into the world of your silent past; going back in time, and picking the peaces of your broken heart again, and making a necklaces of gems out of them. You can start from the moment you were thinking about being a relationship, a moment which might had occurred weeks or even months before you met your husband or wife. You can take the moment days before you know a break up was coming, and start your novel from that very moment. Don’t worry if you do not have enough supporting characters in the beginning, you can easily build them in as you start writing. The biggest secret is, you got to start writing. If you write one page of that moment when you saw him or her, you will see the path of light shinning at your from the second page.
