Christmas is a critical selling period for many companies and for these businesses the christmas season is in full swing. Those that are in charge of marketing and promoting christmas businesses will have designed and implemented their plans months ago and will by now have their minds turned towards the new year. With economic fears adding a lot of trepidation to the forecast for 2012, a great number of companies will be rightly anxious regarding what the next 12 months has in store. Placing your business in the right position is critical to surviving what might be to come, and effective marketing and promotional activity will perform an essential part in putting your business in the strongest possible position. With this in mind, getting the most powerful promotional products for your money will be more crucial than ever and with so many to pick from, getting it right first time can be rather tricky. With a bit of help from a report by the British Promotional Merchandise Association (BPMA), let’s have a look at some of the most successful promotional issues out there so that you can locate the best products for your specifications. Longevity If you are building your brand or looking to get your company details in front of a new client then longevity is going to be a vital consideration for your campaign. Various promotional products can be more suitable to individual demands and as such you'll find some items that lend themselves more to extended life campaigns than others. The BPMA quizzed almost 15,000 people in the summer of 2011 to discover the most powerful promotional items and how they impacted the brands that used them. In this survey they discovered that promotional mugs were the item that users held onto the longest, with 18% of recipients claiming to have held onto branded mugs the longest. Branded Flash drives also scored well, picking up 15% of the vote, followed in 3rd by writing instruments on 12%. Practicality Functionality is an important thought when thinking of which promotional gifts to work with, as this will help to dictate the longevity and prominence of your products. According to the survey, Flash drives were easily the most practical promotional item, with 21% of users dubbing them the most functional. Electrical items came second (11%) with writing instruments in third (10%). So what do these findings mean for your forthcoming campaigns? It is always useful to see what individuals imagine are the best promotional products, but the items you decide on ought to be specific to your business and your audience. Consider what your audience will consider to be the most functional items for their requirements and they fit in with the image of your brand or promotion, it is this combination that is going to enable you to supply the most successful promotional products in the new year.
