Even in the economic downswings since the public rise of the internet, it's still a vehicle for creation of wealth in the most trying times. Excitement and negativity on the topic aside, leveraging information is a major key to success. Whether you're battling in your home based business, pushing for passive income with your information products, or growing your brick and mortar mom and pop shop, the internet can help you squeeze extra cash out of your venture. You don't even need to be a whiz. You just need to grasp and practice some key concepts... The secret to online marketing is understanding that information is a tool, a power to be harnessed. You must use it with purpose and direct it for success! If you're home based in network marketing / MLM and you need to recruit new members, internet prospecting and recruiting is a low risk way to go. Offering information products? This has never been easier now that you can produce, package, market, sell and ship products digitally at extremely low cost. And as a brick and mortar owner, you can drive traffic by offering all sorts of deals, product reviews and continuity programs such as a "Exclusive Sale Products of the Month Club" which not only help retain customers, but create recurring passive income and build your brand loyalty. Online marketing done right can create massive traffic for you in your home based business, traditional storefront or even for your beach based business! But what is the difference between "done right" online marketing and "done wrong" internet marketing? Three big factors that determine success: 1) Optimizing your information / content for your audience. Example: If you are a home based business that's niche specific, you don't want to spend a lot of your time creating complex and expensive website that doesn't help produce sales. You want slim and to the point: "Here's how what I am offering can help you in this niche, and why it makes sense for you." 2) Getting your information to your audience. Example: You've created an information product and put up a website, but nobody's buying. Heck, they're not even finding you... The internet is a big place, so you need to know how to reach out to your customers. Effective advertising and connecting your site to other websites in your niche will bring the customers to the register. 3) Relevance and personality. Example: You run a real estate office and you have pictures of yourself and standard "Sold" photos on your site – just like every other real estate website. Showcasing the houses you've sold, the families you've sold to, and the process you take your customers through tells a story that will entice customers to work with you much more than seeing "the same old thing" that's not relevant to your customer's desires. The trick to making internet marketing work for you is to get an accurate picture of your business and planning your attack instead of going wild with the shotgun approach. Online marketing allows you to track many aspects of your efforts so that you can consistently improve your efforts and therefore grow your business. Don't leave your business success to chance. Find a mentor, or someone with a track record for successful online marketing. Emulate them, tweak their plan to fit your business (home based, mom and pop, beach based, product / service, etc), implement and track. Soon you too will be singing the praises of the information age, internet marketing and the abundance it has brought to your life.
