Here's how life works: you sprain an ankle, and while recovering, someone offers you the chance to housesit at a beautiful Writer's Retreat.
This happened to a friend of mine today.
I'm heading to BALI in July and needed a housesitter. Terren and I spoke briefly on the street this AM. She called later to say that she had sprained her ankle while walking back to her car.
I suggested it was a *message* that perhaps she needed to slow down a bit. She agreed. As we were about to hang up, I mentioned I was going to be out of the country in July ... would she be interested in having a "vacation" at my hillside home in Boulder?
While sitting with her ankle wrapped in ice, she "jumped" at the opportunity. It was perfect timing. I was about to send out a request for help finding the perfect person to my dog loving friends. Now I can travel with peace of mind, and she is home nursing a swollen foot in a happy frame of mind.

Give it a rest. Well, I would, except joy is our basic nature. It’s what everything else we do is aiming for. Yes, money is nice, but why?
