The first thing you have to do is admit that you have a serious problem. Look yourself in the mirror and say, "I have belly fat, how do I get rid of it?" Then you have to make very clear goals and have a picture in your mind how you want to look. Right down your goals and put it somewhere where you see it every day. This mental training is very important and a lot of people avoid it, thinking it is silly. But mostly these people are overweight themselves. How men lose belly fat The main problem why you have belly fat is the lack of fat burning muscle. The more muscle mass you have the more calories you burn and the faster you metabolism gets. Dieting may decrease fat but it cannot increase the amount of muscle you have. Dieting does nothing to alter your body shape. If you have belly fat now then you will still have some belly fat after dieting. You can't get the lean look with diets. We have developed such a mania for losing weight that we miss what the lost weight actually consists of. If someone lose 20 pounds really quickly with a diet then my question would be, 20 pounds of what? While losing fat, you may also lose muscle, which decreases the amount of calories you burn and you could be making things worse. Many people who have exercised their bodies to low body fat levels are full-bodied, healthy people who lead active lives and don't have to worry about how many calories they eat daily. Exercise increases muscle, tones it and increases the metabolic rate. All of these effects mean you burn more calories even when you are sleeping. A bodybuilder can eat 5000-6000 calories a day but still stay very lean. But if an average guy with belly fat starts eating that much then he would gain fat like crazy. Strength training plus aerobic training is the key to lose belly fat for men.
