The queasy feeling in your stomach, that lonely watery feeling that seems to follow you everywhere, and the fear that you could burst into tears at any given moment.

Mending a broken heart isn't easy, but here are some tips that can make your recovery quicker.

First, don't let yourself get depressed. I know that you will want to just stay in and cry from time to time. Don't clamp down your feelings in an unhealthy way. Just don't let them consume you and force you into depression. When you find yourself staying in for days on end, then you my be getting depressed. When you go about fixing a broken heart, you don't want to spend all your time at home crying and listening to sad songs. The world has a lot to offer, and with the right attitude, it can all be yours. You can even get your ex back if that's what you want. But you can't get any of that if you just stay home depressed.

Second, Stick to your goals. No matter how much damage there may be, there is always a way to fix a relationship. Yes, you read that correct. You can always discover a way. Your friends may say that you are entitled to someone better than your ex to try to make you feel better. Are your friends just trying to make you feel angry instead of sad? If what they're saying is untrue, keep your attention on your goal. You wouldn't just admit defeat on love, would you? Feeling broken hearted is no reason to throw in the towel. It's a daring thing to love someone and try to save your relationship.

Third, learn to control your emotions. You only end up pushing your ex away if you are constantly contacting him all the time. I really hope you quit doing this if you are doing this in the first place. Be strong and keep yourself from calling him for about two to four weeks. You'll probably find this to be a very difficult thing to do. I've been there and have had to fight back every need to call him up. You want your ex to have the gift of missing you. You are also giving yourself the chance to recover and fix your broken heart. You might even be amazed to find that he actually reaches out and calls you. If he does call you stay calm and play it cool.

So these are a few things you can do to help fix a broken heart. Remember that you can always turn things around no matter how horrible they may seem.
