Howard Smith to speak at Infrarail

Howard Smith, chief operating officer of London Rail at Transport for London, will make a keynote presentation at Infrarail 2012 on May 2.

Smith, who sits on RTM’s editorial board, will join transport minister Theresa Villiers and Simon Kirby, director of investment projects for Network Rail, in delivering speeches.

Smith’s speech will focus on ‘2012 and Beyond – Transport’s Capital Commitment’.

Infrarail 2012, the UK showcase for rail infrastructure products and services, takes place at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham from 1 – 3 May. The entire seminar programme will take place in the main exhibition hall, with all sessions open to visitors and exhibitors.

The ninth exhibition of Infrarail brings together the latest railway infrastructure products and systems from the industry’s leading suppliers, covering track, civil engineering, signalling and communications, electrification, stations, depots and all other fixed assets.

Features of the show include The Yard, a display area for plant and machinery used for rail construction and maintenance, and the On Track Display of smaller items of track plant, tools and equipment.
