Hyaluronic acid, also known as hyaluronan, is naturally found in the skin, connective tissues, cartilage, and the areas between the joints and the fluid around the eyes. Because of its presence and role it plays in our skin, hyaluronic acid has been a common ingredient in skin care products. It is favored over more traditional treatment such as collagen because it is absorbed through the skin to the cellular level. It helps tissue repair by filling in the space in the tissues and provide elasticity, giving users a more youthful look.

Due to various factors such as overexposure to the sun, aging and other environmental factors, the skin’s ability to produce more hyaluronic acid naturally is limited and inhibited. Hyaluronic acid products have been clinically proven to effectively treat lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin. It can also help plump and firm sagging skin, or treat acne scars and heal damage skin.

By taking hyaluronic acid supplements or tablets, or using hyaluronic acid cream, serum, or other skin care products, a person can renew and increase the amount of hyaluronic acid in their skin. Hyaluronic acid injection therapy has also become more popular, as people have discovered the effective use of this natural product to treat fine lines and wrinkles. However, it is still a new technique and treatment and has a few side effects that leave users in search of a more holistic approach. Some of its side effects include swelling, infection, redness, acne and tissue hardening.

For a more natural way to get all the benefits of hyaluronic acid, there are certain foods that are high in hyaluronic acid. One way is to eat foods that contain a lot of hyaluronic acid. For example, fish bones are a huge source of hyaluronic acid. You could make fish broth from fish bones. All you need to do is take off the fillets, and just boil the rest of the fish including its head and make fish broth. You can also make meat broth using animal joints, sinews and tendons. Adding roots and vegetables also rich in hyaluronic acid can make this soup complete and nourishing to your health. For vegetarians, root vegetables, such as sweet potatoes, potato root, or gelatinous root, are rich in hyaluronic acid. These types of vegetables help the cells of the body thrive and retain moisture. They also keep the joints cushioned and lubricated, protect the retina of the eyes and surrounding fluids, and keep the skin firm, smooth and elastic by supporting collagen.

If you want to look young and healthy, or remove those scars and blemishes on your skin, try some hyaluronic acid skin care products. They have been clinically proven and medically used for skin care. Some good sites that sell hyaluronic acid products are: hyaluronicacidsource.com or hyaluronicskincare.com.
