You were called to attend a meeting. You got scared and overly anxious about the thought of actually speaking in front of a number of people. Come meeting time you got yourself in a bad state and felt you couldn’t be yourself. Do not despair, you are not alone. You might be actually suffering from social anxiety disorder which is incredibly common.
So many suffer from the same condition. This might be the reason why you were not promoted or given a raise during your last evaluation. This is the same reason why millions of dollars and hundreds of hours are wasted yearly because of inefficient work output. The good news is that this condition aside from being surprisingly common is treatable.
Psychologists have recommended hypnotherapy as a cure for social anxiety disorder. Many have already benefited from the positive effects of hypnotherapy in improving the condition of people with social anxiety. The tailored process led to better opportunities, success, and increased self confidence.
Roots of Hypnotherapy
Freud used hypnotherapy to get information out of his subjects. The information is then used to evaluate their history and psychological disposition upon which succeeding treatment will be based upon. Using hypnotherapy today to cure social anxiety disorder is pretty much in the same page. For the most part however, it is used to put patients in a trance to simulate exposure therapy. They are guided into mental milieu that will stimulate them to experience social anxiety disorder. This will then be used to gradually make the patients at ease with the said setting. This incremental adjustment is counted on to bring about total adjustment after a set number of repetitions. The level of stress that the setting can put on a person is also gradually increased. Ultimately, the goal is to make the individual comfortable in a universal set of previously social anxiety inducing environments.
Advantages of Hypnotherapy
The primary advantage of hypnotherapy as a cure for social anxiety disorders is that it is safe. The second most popular method is medication based therapy. Drugs used in the said therapy usually have side effects and prolonged exposure to the substance may magnify the side effects in to full blown disorders. There is also a high propensity to develop a physical and mental dependence for the drug. These problems will not be encountered if one chooses hypnotherapy to eradicate his or her condition.
Hypnotherapy is now being recommended by executives by the NHS (National Health Service) and also throughout private clinics through out America.
