At the 2011 Motor Trader Awards Hyundai was recognised for its sales success after the withdrawal of the scrappage scheme and its dealer relationships. It is the second year in a row that Hyundai dealers have been awarded this accolade and goes to prove the success of the Korean brand. Hyundai has been aggressively introducing new models to the market; these are modern models which have been challenging more established brands. New models have proven to be reliable, eye catching and great value for money. Curtis Hutchinson the editor of Motor Trader said: "Hyundai's sales growth in 2010 proved that the brand was not a one-trick pony dependent on scrappage sales. This is a franchise on the move delivering desirable new product, sensibly priced and with a five year warranty. No wonder dealers want to represent Hyundai." Tony Whitehor the managing director of Hyundai Motor UK Ltd commented: "This is a fantastic achievement to have been recognised in this way for the second year running and is testament not only to the product but also to the efforts and investment made by the Hyundai UK staff and all of our dealers. Hyundai has a real momentum in the market place at present. The product range has been completely revitalised over the last few years and there are some exciting new products just around the corner." It is refreshing to see relatively new brands doing well in the automotive market, which is facing challenge times at the moment. Another car manufacturer bucking the trend is Hyundai’s sister brand KIA.
