DON’T READ THIS FYI — if you’re an overly sensitive person.nnSales whiners, network marketing whiners, employee whiners, management whiners, entrepreneur whiners, not-enough-time-whiners, and any other whiners I’ve left out.nnI’m tired of The WHINERS! I think I’ve heard from all of them this past week and I’m just getting over the nauseous feeling I’ve had from hearing them complain.nnNo doubt these are the “worst of times” for some. I understand the economic challenges thousands of folks are experiencing in this country right now. And yes, there are real victims hit hard by this economic downturn.nnBut, these are also the “best of times” for others, beneficiaries of newfound opportunity and people who simply take responsibility for their own success.nnEveryone is experiencing the same economy as you. You are also not the only person with an inept, crappy boss … a weak upline sponsor… poor sales collateral … a bad manager… or are wearing every hat in your one person operation. So, so what?nnBelieve it or not: There are winners in the same situation as you, who are making a fortune and thriving because they are taking responsibility for their own success.nnAnd you can, too. My mentor, Jim Rohn, has a saying that I always think of when I hear someone whining.nnThe same wind blows on all of us;nthe difference is in how we choose to set our sails.nnYou will never get out of your mental, head-trash, negative self-talk, milk-toast, wimpy, rut, if you continually subscribe to giving up all of your personal power to external forces — someone or something else.nnIt’s a lame excuse. Here’s a wakeup call –nnIt’s not the other guy, it’s you!nnThe only person you have control over is you. When you relinquish that control and start looking at the weather outside for your internal forecast, then you’ve opened up the door for big problems.nnYou and I can’t singlehandedly do any thing about the economy or the marketplace. It just is what it is.nnFYI ACTION IDEA: Don’t spend one second thinking about things or people you can’t control. I focus on setting my sails in a way that gets the most out of the wind that is currently blowing. This strategy has benefitted me throughout my entire life. I strongly encourage you to try it.nnOne of the ways Encarta.com defines responsibility is:nnAuthority to act: Authority to make decisions independently.nnYou have the power. Power to respond. Change. Make a decision. Take massive action. And the power to WIN.nn• Your success is your responsibility.n• Your failure is your responsibility.n• You own it.n• All of it.nnIf you’ve made a bad decision, you’ve made a bad decision. So what! Admit it, own it and then decide to take responsibility to make another decision to change and create a better outcome. I’ve made lots of bad decisions in my life; all of them have made me stronger, smarter and have provided me with an experience to learn how to become better.nnDon’t whine about your company. You chose to work there. If your company has crappy business cards, get your own. If your company has a crappy website, create your own personal website (you should have one anyway). If your upline sponsor is unavailable or stupid, find someone else who will mentor you.nnIf your company doesn’t provide training, get your own. If your manager is dumb as dirt and you’re so smart, then find out what it will take for you to get promoted so they work for you.nnFYI Takeaway: My point is simple: You own your life. If you don’t like the way your life is turning out, change it. If you don’t wake up, giddy, happy, fired-up and passionate about your life mostly every day, then you are missing the party, my friend.nMake It Your Best Year Ever!
