Grieving is a hard process. If you had a great relationship, but its run its course, you need to take measures to get back on your feet, and fast. Don't think about all the things you have to do or have been avoiding. This will only make you feel overwhelmed and frustrated. Instead, when you hear your alarm clock, get out of bed without thinking about what you have to do next. Then, have a glass of water or do another task right away. You'll be surprised at how much better you feel just getting small things done. You can celebrate small victories like going grocery shopping by rewarding yourself with something you enjoy. If you made it through a day of work without thinking about her, make it a big deal and celebrate.

Step 3 - Focus on you. Once you start doing all the little things, you need to spend time focusing on you and not on them. Clean up your place, shower, hang out with your friends, get some guys together for a game of football or even just get a haircut. If you're feeling ambitious, take on a project or hobby you've been interested in but never really got around to. Start up boxing or making model airplanes. Anything that helps you feel accomplished and good about yourself will fill that void and help you recover from heartbreak faster.

Step 4 - Don't even think about dating. If you're focused on you and powering through your new hobby, looking good and feeling good but still thinking about your ex, you're not ready for a new relationship. Take this time to enjoy being single. Leave the toilet seat up, burp, fart, watch all the porn you want, avoid one-night stands and don't make any plans with women.

You'll be over her in no time flat and when you are, you'll be blown away by how fast girls start showing up in your life again. Don't waste your time thinking about getting over your ex girlfriend, do it now.
