Just because you build a website or blog does not mean that you will get visitors. You have to get the word out about your site. Well, you may be saying "What if I can't afford to pay for advertising?" "I am on a limited budget as it is." Never fear, there are plenty of ways to drive free traffic to your website and I am going to discuss the top 3 ways to drive traffic. They are Social Media Marketing, Article Marketing, and Video.

Social Networking sites are are all the rage now. They are a great way to gain exposure for yourself and for your business. A few of the top sites are Facebook, Linked In, and Twitter. On each of these sites you are able to make posts on relevant message boards. You must make sure that when you post to the various group boards that you are giving relevant information and not just posting a direct advertisement. In other words, do not spam random groups. If you do, they may block you from the group. Make sure that you are offering the members real advice and information to solve a problem. Always include your signature on each post with a link to your website.

Article Marketing is also a very effective tool for building long-term and continuous streams of traffic to your website. "Why?" you may ask. Well, once your article is published it will be online indefinately. Your article must include high quality useful information. This method is also a good way to promote yourself and your blog. You will be able to build a good reputation, become an authority, or be considered an expert within your market. There are hundreds of article submission sites out there: Articlecity.com, EzineArticles.com, and GoArticles.com just to name a few. You can submit to each site individually or you can use article submitting software like Article Submitte Pro or you can use a free service like freearticlesubmission.org. When you submit your articles, always include your bio with a link to your website at the end of your article.

Last but most certainly not least is Viral Video or Web 2.0. Video has become the hottest internet marketing tool on the planet. Media outlets are where a lot of people are spending their time these days. Videos are also a great way to win the search engine game. When you load a video, you are asked for key words to describe your video. When those words are typed into Google, your video has a good chance of being listed in the results. Again just like in Article Marketing, make sure that you are giving useful information and not trying to sell viewers on your company.
