This was a major blow for Devas and hence Devas worshipped to Lord Shiva. Amused with their prayer, Lord Shiva appeared in the form of Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga and defeated demons. A dip in the meeting of Kaveri and Narmada is reckoned to be of religious importance, which appears in the form of Om symbol.
