Improve Website Search Engine Optimization: Myth vs. Reality
Internet marketing home based business success depends on search engines finding/indexing your website. Your Website Pages and Keywords must be top 10 ranked vs. competing sites for organic traffic.
There are 7 fundamental internet marketing strategies and optimizing your website is one of the keys. The term is "Search Engine Optimization" (SEO) and it refers to the techniques needed by your website to be very friendly to the search engines. The Search Engines, Google, Yahoo, Bing and many others must be able to locate your website and "index" your pages. Once your site has been discovered, "indexed", the search engines will begin to rank your website against all others in your specific niche based on content and SEO ffwebsite techniques.
One ongoing challenge is that the search engines continually change the rules as to how they assign ranking for your website. Google, for example, changes the rules, as in their recent Panda rating algorithms (the formula used to rank your website). Because of this you must stay alert for information covering changes when they occur and adjust your SEO strategies accordingly. That said there are specific website attributes that seem to remain fundamental to the SEO process. Implementing these website SEO techniques very tightly is an important first step.
The first of these website techniques is to make sure you have the basic core Pages set up on your website and in the site header tool bar. These include; Blog page, About page, Contact page, FAQ page, Sales pages (depending on your website Theme.purpose) and sometimes Article(s) page. This is very important. Not only do the search engines rate your website higher where you have these Pages set up, but they like it even more if they are linked. That is to say you create your About page and then add a link in the content of that Page to your Contact page and FAQ page, etc.
Next is website "Content" and this refers to the text and information you include on your website. The search engines want to rank sites on the first page of any Search based on the value and relevancy of the information provided. Generally, an internet marketing website uses a "blogging" format where the website owner adds 3 - 5 or more unique Blogs to their website every week. These Blogs must be unique, interesting and Keyword rich in order to get quality SEO scores. There are a number of ways to research and write interesting Blogs, and there are a number of resources available once you get started.
Making your Pages and Blog-posts "Keyword Focused" is a necessity but it must be balanced and relevant. You can not just stuff your Blogs and Articles with a bunch of keywords that are not relevant and integrated to the content of your post. You will include your Keywords in the following Blog/Article, In the Title of your Blog/article, in the text of your Blog and in the Closing paragraph. You want Keyword/phrase density (the percent of the time your keyword/phrases show up in the content) at 5 -8% of the total words. For a 400 word Blog, that would mean using one of your 5 - 8 top keywords about 3 times.
You will then add what is called a "Resource Box" at the bottom of every Blog-post or Article. The Blog Resource Boxis placed at the bottom of each post and usually linked to other information on your website (linked to another related Blog or Post on your website). The Blog resource Box would generally have a link or reference to your website "Opt-in" for people to leave their e-mail address in exchange for a Free report or other valuable information. The Article Resource Box is used with longer articles that you will add to your Website or post to Article Directories to broadcast your Article and get back-links to your website for more SEO. This resource Box is a bit more formal and talks about the “Authors” experience. The important thing for a great Resource Box is to tell people what it is that makes your website unique and what the value proposition is for the visitor. Also, add links and references to your Opt-in, as well.
These key techniques are fundamental to SEO and important to getting your website-pages ranked high by the search engines. The more you can learn about SEO, and work to implement SEO on your website the better. The process is something any aspiring internet marketer can learn and utilize to build a relevant and attractive website. SEO is the first and the other 6 fundamentals are just as important.
