Remember when your parents, your teachers or your coach would hit you with that classic line of “Practice makes perfect” whenever you were trying to accomplish something. This is a very true statement if you want to become successful at anything and you can also apply this theory to your everyday life when you want to improve your self-confidence. Self-confidence is a broad term that can relate to many different areas of your life and just because you are confident in one area, this doesn’t necessarily mean you are going to be confident in others. For example you could be extremely confident in your sporting abilities yet have a severe lack of confidence in your academic abilities. You might be confident in your academic abilities yet have a lack of confidence in your social skills. Self-confidence is gained through having positive experiences and to be able to have these positive experiences you need to first expose yourself to certain situations. For example, you will not gain confidence in your sporting abilities if you don’t attempt to play sports. You will not become confident with your social skills if you never attempt to start a conversation with someone. You need to expose yourself to a situation in order to improve yourself in that particular area. Once you have exposed yourself to that particular situation, you then need to put in the effort and practice so you will become better. And just like the old saying goes – Practice makes perfect. rnPractice Everyday To Improve Your Self-Confidencern Think of the different areas where you would like to improve your self-confidence and try to incorporate some type of practice in to your day to day activities. For instance:- rnIf you want to improve your confidence with your social skills by becoming more comfortable when starting a conversation, then make an effort of initiating a conversation with someone you don’t know on a daily basis. It could be the shopkeeper of your local store or maybe that person you see everyday at the bus stop. It doesn’t matter who it is just be sure to put in the effort and make an attempt to start a conversation at least once a day. You will gradually start to feel a lot less awkward when you are in that situation and you will start to become more and more confident with each attempt. rnIf you want to improve your self-confidence by losing some extra weight so you can feel good about your appearance, then make sure you allocate some time everyday to doing some type of exercise and make an effort to stick to your plan. You don’t have to actually go to a gym or put on your running shoes and go for a run, you could simply choose to take the stairs instead of the elevator or choose to ride your bike instead of taking the bus. Just make an effort to take the more physical option whenever you can. rnYour opportunities for improving your confidence in any area of your life on a daily basis are only limited to your imagination and your level of motivation. Everyday we are presented with many different opportunities that we can use to improve our personal growth, it is just a matter of identifying what these opportunities are and taking full advantage of them. rnRemember practice makes perfect so increase your chances of becoming more confident by implementing certain strategies and techniques you can practice everyday. If you are able to do this then you will start seeing positive results and you will be on your way to becoming that confident person you have always wanted to be.
