Improving self-esteem is a task that needs to be addressed because self-esteem is at the core of everything else in your life.
It will determine the level at which you live. If you suffer from low self-esteem right now, then I don't have to tell you how miserable it is.
I know because I suffered from low self-esteem for many years. I suffered mentally, physically, emotional and spiritually. So I know the effects it can have on the overall quality of your life.
And I'm here to tell you that life is much more enjoyable and pleasurable after you learn how to love and accept yourself completely from the inside out.
That's why I say that improving self-esteem is definitely an inside job. One that requires openness, honesty and focused attention from the most important person in your life - you!
So don't go looking for your self-esteem elsewhere because you won't find it out there. Instead look within yourself and really get to know who you are and what you want your life to be about.
Here are three things you can do today to start the process of building higher self-esteem.
Let's begin...
1. Forget about the past. You cannot live your present life from your past regrets. You must actively let it go. By actively, I mean you must say or write down everything from your past that has a hold of you.
All the memories that you can't seem to let go of even after years of trying; those are the ones that must go first. If you can't or don't want to say them aloud to someone or you don't have anyone to tell them to, then get a journal and start writing letters to yourself.
Write about all the memories that have you trapped in the past and mentally see yourself releasing them. Picture yourself finally being free of the pain and regret. You can do it. You are the only one who gets the final say as to what you hold onto and what you let go of.
When it comes to improving self-esteem you always get the final says. It's your right, own it.
2. Forgive yourself completely. Forgive yourself for every mistake you've ever made that hurt you or someone else. Don't allow your past mistakes to rule your current life.
Especially if you did them 5, 10 or even 15 years ago. There's no way you can go back in time and change them so you must forgive yourself and move on.
If there's someone you must say sorry to then do it and let it go.
And realize that you done the best you could do then and now you know better so you'll do better.
3. Change your mental attitude towards life. If you currently think that life is unpleasant, uninspiring and always a struggle, then you have some refocusing to do.
Instead of focusing on what's not working in your life, focus and be grateful for what is. Because what you focus on you'll attract more of. What you talk about and think about most of the time will become your reality.
The best way to break free of your negative mental attitude is to replace it with a positive one. Find some affirmations or better yet, create some positive affirmations to repeat and allow them to replace your negative thoughts.
Now do you see how improving self-esteem is an inside job that only you can take on? Trust me, it doesn't matter what happens in the exte
al world as long as you have a firm grip on your internal world.
Do yourself a favor and build a solid internal foundation for you build your entire life around and you'll be living and enjoying the life of your dreams.

Quit Inflicting “BUT” on Yourself!
While I was waiting for my dance class to start, I watched an instructor patiently coach a couple through what was obviously one of their first lessons. The instructor was having them do a “box step,” which is what it sounds like. A “box” made with your feet. It consists of two parts, a forward half box and a backward half box. Each half box has three steps: a step forward or backward, a step to the side, and a step to close the feet together. The instructor was counting out
