Strong blog posts may last up to a month if you have acquired a certain amount of authority within your domain name, however, if other sites link with it during that period of time then your blog could last much longer and keep your site ranking high. As such, many sites look to increase the number of links that other sites build to keep the content fresh and updated. An increased number of links also suggests that your site is trusted and therefore commands more authority. Keyword density and the number of links you have with other sites builds on your position within your domain.
Keeping your position high
To keep your position high in search engine results, then you are aiming to build both external and internal links and maximise the number of times a keyword is used in your content. It is important to keep a balance though. You should use a keyword as much as is viable using a keyword density calculation, but try not to overuse it as this will push it over the edge. Keeping this balance means that you can manage your flow of traffic to maximise the number of visitors you have to your site.
Still not working?
If you find that your website is still not performing well then you should consider how trusted your content is and whether there is anything you can do to bolster it. The fortification of your keyword in the content of your site and an increase in your RSS feed should help you, but if you find that this isn’t the case then track back and analyse your site for its successes and failures. Look to improve in any area that you feel you could improve in and engage with your audience as much as possible. If you can achieve all of this then your site should only go from strength to strength.
