Causes of Infertility among men and women Most people would love to have children someday. For some couples it is quite easy to conceive but for others holding a child in their arms could be just a dream. The man or the woman can suffer from infertility. The more common causes of infertility amongst males are the abnormal sperm motility or morphology or insufficient number of normal sperms. Problems that could be related to the production of the sperm, such as damage caused by the treatment of cancer, and in some cases when a person is overexposed to certain medicines, pesticides, alcohol, marijuana or tobacco. The more common causes for infertility among women are endometriosis, blockage of the fallopian tube, premature ovarian failure, fibroids, abnormal function of uterus, adhesion, and imbalance of the immune function and hormones. The good news though is that there are many kinds of treatments that can help couples conceive. Infertility has been treated with acupuncture and Chinese herbs for more than 5 thousand years with positive results. Can Acupuncture Really Help? When very fine needles are inserted into specific points in the body, it helps to regulate the function of uterus, adrenal gland, thyroid glands and ovaries. The hormones produced from those glands have to be in balance in order to have a healthy baby. Hypothyroid condition can influence the development of fetus brain. Insufficient production of the progesterone can also lead to autism and miscarriage. Acupuncture has been proven to regulate the ovulation and help the ovaries produce more healthy eggs. Acupuncture can be combined with IVF and IUI to achieve a higher successful rate. How Acupuncture Works Infertility is more common today and some of the reasons could be the unhealthy lifestyle and diets of youngsters. A healthy and active lifestyle is important to have a healthy baby. There are points that can be stimulated with the acupuncture and acupressure and this helps to remove any blockages and improve the circulation and movement of energy. When circulation increases, blood rich in oxygen and nutrients will flow to the reproductive organs and this will help to improve the health of the reproductive system. A point to remember though is that treating infertility with acupuncture takes at least 2 to 3 months. A Harmless, Effective Treatment for Infertility Infertility can be treated with acupuncture without worrying about any side effects. These holistic and alte ative treatments are also less expensive than the other modern treatments like IVF and IUI etc. This ancient Chinese medicine treatment helps to regulate the emotional, mental, and physical and the spiritual balance of women and all these are crucial to help in conception. A woman, who may have not had any success with other treatments, will benefit after a few sessions of acupuncture. The body will start to function more efficiently and this will help the newer treatments to work. This is a reason why more practitioners of western medicine are recommending acupuncture to their patients before and during the IUI or IVF procedure. The success rates are indeed higher with those patients who go for acupuncture sessions verified by extensive research.
