Inspiring kids on Good Governance Day

Good Governance Day is celebrated in India every year on the birthday of the former Prime Minister of India Shri AtalBihari Vajpayee. He was not only a great politician and orator but also a poet. He received the highest civilian award in India- the Bharat Ratna Award in 2015, for his contributions to our country. Since 2014, his birthday on the 25th of December is celebrated as Good Governance Day, commemorating his excellent service to our nation. This day is all about raising awareness among citizens for their welfare and their participation in a good governance system, remembering the achievements and contributions of Shri AtalBihari Vajpayee as an outstanding statesman of India. Vajpayee Ji is an inspirational figure to today's kids. On Good Governance Day School Assembly, children learn about the life of this great leader, politician, orator, and poet, and enrich themselves. The students will not only know about his overall contributions in different spheres, but also interesting facts about him, such as him being the first person to deliver a speech in Hindi at the 1977 United Nations General Assembly, and about his private achievements too- such as his excellent cooking skills. AtalBihari Vajpayee activities in school on this day will give the children a thorough insight into the life of the great statesman, and inspire the kids through his struggles and achievements. Kids on this day are reminded about the importance of an efficient governance system for taking care of the welfare of all citizens, and the life and works of Shri AtalBihari Vajpayee inspire them to grow into responsible citizens who will make significant contributions to their country. AtalBihariJi was an acclaimed poet and many of his poetry is very inspirational and can be read out to the students to encourage them and inspire.
