If you have just set up your own business or intend to do so in the near future then you probably have many different issues to contend with. Whether the issues come down to finance, location, staffing or product fulfillment there can be a cacophony of different problems to sort before you get going.rnOne consideration that many startup businesses don’t take into consideration is how they will set up their network of computers. How they will manage the devices that are connected to their server, whether they will plump for getting an employee to oversee their IT issues or whether they will entertain having off-site IT support.rnWhatever the solution is your business will have to get onboard at an early stage an effective network management software tool to allow for either the IT employee or off-site support access to your network. Network management software enables an IT professional to easily access and monitor activity on a said network and check for status changes or faults.rnThere are many different solutions available in the market at this time, there are advanced software solutions costing hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars to purchase. There are also at the other end of the market many free and open source solutions providing many of the same aspects as the much pricier versions.rnAs there is different software for network management in the market, they’ll all offer varying degrees of feature sets and functionality. On the whole the vast majority of these different software types will have many common features in place.rnThe benefit for your business when starting out is that the network management software you eventually choose allows you to view the network visually. The enables the IT support staff to better gauge the status of the network and any issues. The software can allow for problems to be detected in real time with alerts sent to system administrators by text alert or email alert.rnAs the software continually monitors the network in real time it is effective at detecting threats of intrusion to the network or security breaches. This is achieved by the systems software detecting unauthorized signatures trying to change the status of attached network devices.rnAll of a given networks devices and peripherals can be easily integrated into the host company’s network system by using simple network management protocol. SNMP which is now the standard internet protocol for device communication amongst the vast majority of devices produced regardless of the manufacturer.
