If you are into online marketing or affiliate marketing, intelligent split testing is imperative for your online marketing efforts. If you have not been doing it up until now, you should start as soon as possible. Intelligent split testing could take your online marketing income to the next level.
If you are not using intelligent split testing right now you are leaving money on the table each and every day. I say this because, it wasn’t until I started using split testing that I was able to move my affiliate income up to a point to where I could finally quit my day job and support my family off of my affiliate income. You may think that this is a bold claim, but it is absolutely true.
What kind of sites can utilize intelligent split testing? There are so many different types of websites out on the Internet these days. It doesn’t matter which type you have, split testing is still crucial to your marketing efforts. Your site could be a single page sales letter site, or a mini site, an AdSense website, a huge content site or a simple blog.
There are always ways that you can tweak your site to increase the percentage of your conversion rate, whether it is a site that sales a product, or it is a site with the sole purpose of collecting emails, or even a membership site. If your site has a purpose and a goal, it can always be tweaked for higher performance.
I would like to explain a little bit about exactly what split testing is.
Split testing is the process of testing out different versions of a landing page to see which one converts the best. It could be a web page, an email list, a TV commercial, or a billboard advertisement, or anything else that you can test the result from by offering up two different landing pages and collecting the data on which one gives the best results.
If you are an internet marketer, it could be two different web pages that you are testing to see which web page design converts the best. It could be as simple as testing just two different headlines. A headline is a great example of an element to test on your website.
We all know that headlines are the first thing that website visitors look at when they land on a website. If the headline does not catch their attention instantly, they will hit the back button. So for testing, you would have two landing pages, each with a different headline. This will be your testing effort to see which of the two headlines catch the visitor’s attention the most.
I might also add that split testing works best with a fairly large number of visitors. If your website traffic is low, your split test results may not be correct over a short period of time. But keep in mind that even with low traffic, split testing is still a good idea. You will just need to test for a longer period of time, and be very patient.
