Is yoga only for physical well-being?
There is a very common misconception among the people that yoga is about physical well-being like stretching, bending, moving, etc. and it is considered as a mode of exercise by them. But none of any mode of exercise is comparable to yoga. This is because yoga is not a mode of exercise at all. If this has been the case then Zumba, Aerobics, Gymnastics, etc had have taken the place as well as the reputation that yoga has today.
Spirituality is a distinctive aspect of Yoga which is not found in anything else.
How Yoga and Spirituality Interconnected?
Yoga and Spirituality is not an outer thing which appeals to the eyes. It is about the experience of balancing and integrating body, mind, soul and all the senses. It makes an individual feel and experiences the connection between soul and body. Here lies Spirituality; it helps human beings to identify themselves better. These things have been there from the time of eternity but yoga made it possible to reach and experience these aspects of life.
For example, in recent years, the western world has been greatly influenced by yoga. A large number of people follow it and come to pursue Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh. If it has been just for physical well-being, I don't think so that they do not have better options.
The reason is that it's easy to attain physical stability and to work for its well-being than acquiring inner peace through meditation and unifying your senses. Besides yoga has its own philosophy and meditation with the authentic aim of enlightenment. Yoga is experiencing spirituality and divinity while practicing it and stabilizing your mind and body.
Spirituality and Divinity
Spirituality and divinity are the aspects which make yoga unique. It is hundreds of decades old and has been practiced by various yogis, gurus, and people. There are lots of passionate practitioners who justify their uniqueness and authenticity. One of the characteristic features which are considered to be in a true Yogi is his calmness and his peaceful mind and heart. It is believed that a person with anger, rage, and an unstable mind cannot be a true Yogi. It is because Yogis meditate regularly which helps them to encounter a stressful situation that regulates their anger. All these practices have been scientifically proven too. Yoga is not bound to any particular religion. It is definitely originated from one but not bound to anyone. It can be pursued by anyone as yoga and spirituality are about experiencing the experience of oneness.Misconceptions
Spirituality, as highly misconstrued, does not come from religiousness, but from the experiences, a person attains through the unification of body, brain, and soul. Many people have been cured of stress, anxiety, blood pressure problems and depression by yoga and meditation. rnAll these ailments do not occur due to any outer source like microorganisms but they occur within our self. This tells us that we damage our body knowingly or unknowingly and yoga with meditation curing it indicates that it affects not physically but mentally and psychologically too. If you want to attain inner peace, calmness and experience stability in and within your body then you can join Hatha Yoga Teacher Training, Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training and Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training Courses in Rishikesh which will help you to understand every aspect of Yoga and Spirituality with deep understanding.Further reading
