The painting has been a hot topic for most of the people these days. Asking questions regarding interior painting in Auckland and its procedure is evident. Nowadays it difficult for people to understand the entire process of painting - the primer, paint, coated, latex paint, and much more. People are not familiar with these words and so get confused with their usage. Thus, today we’ll share a few queries about which people have inquired. We’re sure you’ll get a better idea, or you might get your answer as well. Question: Why does my little sheen or flat paint show handprints and marks? Answer: In general, flat or low sheen do not have high scrutability; therefore they show handprints and marks very quickly. Perhaps, to avoid this situation, you should get a high shine product painted on your walls. Usually, areas will greater durability are recommended to be painted with “satin” or higher sheen paints. Question: How long does it take for paint to cure walls? Answer: It depends on of the environment, color choice, atmospheric conditions, and other variables. If I have to be precise then, latex paint may take up to 60 days for “full cure.” Also in most cases, latex paint can be put to use after a day or so. Also, fresh latex should be allowed to cure for approximately 14 days at a stretch. Please remember that latex can be sensitive to water or chemicals during the curing process. It is strongly recommended to wash off the walls in the presence of some experienced person. Question: What cause lap marks in the dried paint on the wall? Answer: Lap marks can be caused due to two main reasons: if the paint is applied vertically only or when a wet edge is not maintained while painting. To get rid of lap marks, one should only paint in “M” or “W” pattern, and the wet edge should be maintained. Once the wall is painted, you can go back to the starting point and cover the overlapping effect quickly. Question: Sometimes the coat does not cover the paint, why so? Answer: There can be several reasons why paint will not coat after cover. For example, drastic changes (dark to light or even light to dark), stretching the product near or beyond its coverage rate, improper roller cover usage or extremely thinning the product. Question: When I removed the tape from the edge why did the paint peel off of the wall? Answer: The “Painter's tape” or masking tape may tend to stick to fresh paint if not removed right after painting or pulled inappropriately from the surface of the wall. When the paint is applied to the walls by the painter, it will inevitably cover the masking tape as well. The paint will adhere to the wall as well as the tape as soon as it starts drying. This “bridge” of paint from the tape to the wall will lift as the tape is pulled off. To help minimize the issue, you can use a sharp knife or paper cutter to cut off the painted bridge formed between the walls and the painter's tape. As you do that, you can quickly remove the tape without peeling off the paint from the surface. Question: Do we need to apply primer every time we paint our walls? Answer: No, generally if you’re using the same color on the walls, you don’t require to apply primer. However, you might need scuff sand to remove the gloss and dirt from the walls. Also, the walls will also need to be repeatedly painted to hide uneven surfaces. Switching sheets or drastic color will require you to apply primer on the walls.
