I admit it—I procrastinate. In fact, I seem to have elevated procrastination to an art form. It seems to rule my life at the moment. It made me wonder about inspired action, but as I began to really think about and analyze my apparent paralysis I started to realize some things. Perhaps my internal guidance system was telling me something important, that the timing for doing the things I need to do isn’t right, or maybe this is not the thing I need to be doing in that exact moment. There are times when we act out of fear and worry and those actions often lead us away from what we want to manifest, instead of towards the things we really want in life. Procrastination is not something bad—rather it is something that can be helpful if it feels like the right thing to do. Procrastination can help us slow down and really focus on what we want. It helps to take inspired action when it actually feels right. If you are procrastinating about a task, take the time to examine what it is you know you need to do and why you are not feeling motivated to do it. Really focus on what your internal guidance system is saying to you. There are things I had on my list to do to bring in more money but I have been procrastinating about doing anything because none of it felt quite right. Interestingly enough, when I followed my IGS and stopped fighting the procrastination, lo and behold, I received an email about unclaimed property I had with a bank. That email led me to the state website for unclaimed property where I discovered I have several large amounts of money to claim. As it turns out, this money will actually help me follow through with some of the other tasks on my list. This is a great example of the importance of timing. Clearly, my IGS knew the timing was not right to begin some of those other tasks. What I am noticing now is that my procrastination around the money tasks is disappearing and I am feeling inspired to take action now. Learning to rely on and trust in the universe, your internal guidance system and the Universal Law of Attraction takes time. Using affirmations can be a good way to get in better touch with your internal guidance system. Affirmations such as “I trust in my internal guidance system,” or I trust that the “Universe will bring me the right things at the right time” can help us to let go of resistance and follow our highest path. Procrastination can be your friend. It can stop you from making rash decisions and taking actions at the wrong time as long as your procrastination feels right according to your IGS.
