1: SEO

This will not be a great source of sales immediately, but SEO offers fantastic ROI in the long term. You should seriously consider planning for the SEO of your site, while in reality the design and plan it. Think carefully about the categories of products - do some research and find out what people are really looking for, site navigation set accordingly.

2: Users first

Most e-commerce platforms with a wide range of display options, which makes them suitable for most companies - do not fall into the trap of thinking that you should use all simply because they exist.

Think carefully about how users actually want to use your site and make it easy for them. Focus on your navigation more important. It's amazing how many sites are overloaded for the first time user information. Keep it simple and it will keep more customers.

3: PPC

Think about how you will advertise your site. Adwords is a popular choice, but this is very wrong more often. A well-planned campaign can be the difference between making a loss or gain.

Start by using very specific keywords. People who are looking for specific products are probably much closer to being ready to buy, so it is more likely to make a sale. They are also more likely to buy on price, however, so first consider whether it can compete effectively.

4: Landing pages

However you are advertising, you need to think about the pages your visitors will come. Do not assume that all users must enter through the main page. Users coming to a category page shows the products that match what you are looking for, this means they are more likely to convert.

5: Long term

Earn money with your web site can not happen immediately. You have to work hard to get your business established, create a list of customers, generate repeat custom and invest in SEO. The first 3 or 4 months could be spent trying not to lose money. If you can do everything right, and really get customers to return, however, is likely to start turning a profit.
