Stock Market Sector: All the companies listed in the stock market offer some products or service. There are many companies which provide somewhere the same products or services. For example, all the banks provide the same banking services and in this case, a major part of the stock market can be divided into the banking sector.rnSimilarly, all those companies are kept in a group or category, which make similar products or provide some similar services and this group or category is called Stock Sector. The list of different sectors of the stock market can be made this way:
  1. Automotive- The Company that makes all types of vehicles is kept in the automotive sector.
  2. Banking & Financial Services - In this sector, the companies providing all types of banking and finance services are kept.
  3. Cement & Construction - In this sector, building construction, and cement-related companies are kept.
  4. Chemicals - All types of chemical and alcohol-making companies are kept in this sector.
  5. Consumer Durable - All types of Consumer Durable products such as fridge, TV, AC, fan, and long-lasting products used in Keychain such as cooker etc. are kept in this sector.
  6. Consumer non-durable - All types of Non-Consumer Durable products such as Daily Needs like - Toothpaste, Soap, Cream, Powder and Such things are kept in this sector.
  7. Engineering & Capital Goods - In this sector, a company dealing with engineering industries such as tools, motors and all kinds of tools or small machines are kept in this sector.
  8. Food & Beverages - The company that produces all kinds of food and drink products are kept in this sector.
  9. Information Technology - The company making products related to all types of computers and mobile software and information technology is kept in this sector.
  10. Manufacturing - A company dealing with all kind of manufacturing companies such as casting and forging, and other metal process is kept in this sector.
  11. Media & Entertainment - In this sector, the company related to TV, Cinema, PRINT MEDIA, and online media is kept in this sector.
  12. Metals & Mining - The company making steel and coal products are kept in this sector.
  13. Oil & Gas - The company making oil and gas products are kept in this sector.
  14. Pharmaceuticals - The company that makes all types of medicines is kept in the PHARMA sector.
  15. Retail & Real Estate - Companies related to trading and construction are kept in this sector.
  16. Telecommunication - All types of telecom companies and mobile operators are kept in this sector.
