Many of my clients have asked me how I can tell if an animal is sick or has the beginning stages of a potential health problem. One way is simply to ask the animal during a consultation if they are experiencing pain anywhere in their body. The animal will provide me with the information in words, showing me the location in their bodies or even by transferring the pain temporarily to the same area in my body. The latter is quite unpleasant for me to experience but, it definitely gets my attention and drives the point home.

As a Reiki Master, I can use Reiki energy healing on animals while I am physically in their presence or from a distance. In either scenario, I activate the Reiki energy and perform a body scan on the animal. During an in-person consultation, I slowly guide my hands over the entire body of the animal to see if I can detect any fluctuations in their body's energy. During a remote consultation, I will scan the energy of the animal by using a picture of the animal as a focal point.

If a fluctuation is detected during the process of scanning the animal’s body, different sensations will be felt in my fingers, hands or body depending on the animal and the severity of the problem. For example, the fluctuation can be felt as a warm energy in one specific area while the rest of the body’s energy is cool or vice versa. Other times I will feel a tingling sensation in my hands when I scan over an area that may be experiencing a problem. When a fluctuation in energy has been discovered, this usually indicates that there is an energy blockage around that particular area that must be cleared in order to avoid a potential problem. The energy fluctuation that I feel can also serve as confirmation that a suspected problem does in fact exist and needs further examination by a veterinarian.

If a potential problem is detected in a certain area of the animal's body, a trained energy healing practitioner will know. The human companion can then choose to take the animal to their veterinarian and give the veterinarian some idea about where a potential problem may exist.

An energy healing practitioner can tell you if your pet is experiencing any health issues from what they feel when they do a scan of the animal’s body. Then they can provide energy healing for your pet in an attempt to clear the blocked energy channel. If the blockage is cleared, then the fluctuations in your pet’s energy are cleared and the problem is either alleviated or eliminated. If the blockage in the energy channel cannot be cleared completely, then, if you choose, you can arrange an appointment with your veterinarian in order to pinpoint the problem with the appropriate tests and, hopefully, remedy the health issue.
