Introduction On October 8th, 1995, Tata Mutual Fund launched a scheme named Tata Balanced Fund, now known as Tata Hybrid Equity Fund which is an open-ended hybrid scheme that invests mainly in equity and equity related instruments. The objective of this scheme is to distribute income and provide capital appreciation to its investors. Who Should Invest in This Fund? Tata Hybrid Equity Fund G is for those investors who are keen on investing in a scheme that yields capital growth and generates income by investing predominantly in equity and allocating the remaining assets in debt and money market instruments for medium to long-term period. Investors must be ready to bear moderately high risk on their principal amount. Who is Managing This Fund? Tata Balanced Fund is managed by Mr. Pradeep Gokhale and Mr. Murthy Nagarajan jointly. Mr. Pradeep Gokhale - He has done B.Com(Hons.), CA and CFA and has been managing this scheme since April, 2016. He has an overall experience of 25 years.   • An investor may start investing in Tata Hybrid Equity Fund G with a minimum investment amount of Rs. 5000. This scheme also provides an opportunity for its investors to invest through SIP mode with a minimum amount of Rs. 500 which is to be paid at least for a period of twelve months and Rs. 1000 for a period six months. There is also an option to invest through quarterly SIP with a minimum amount of Rs. 1000.
  • There is no entry load that an investor has to worry about while investing in this scheme. In case, you wish to redeem the units within one year of investment from the date of allotment, then you become liable to pay 1% as exit load.
  • The net asset value as on June 28th, 2018 was Rs. 200.4418 and the assets managed under Tata Hybrid Equity Fund Growth were recorded as Rs. 5349 crores as on May 31st, 2018. The assets of this scheme are invested in equity up to a minimum of 65% to a maximum of 80% with high-risk involvement. In addition, it invests a minimum of 20% in debt and money market instruments to a maximum of 35% with principal amount being exposed to low to medium risk.
  • The top five companies in whose equity it has invested majorly are HDFC Bank (Financial), Reliance Industries (Energy), Larsen & Toubro (Construction), ITC (FMCG), and ICICI Bank (Financial) with percentage of assets allocated in them being 7.99, 3.96, 3.58, 3.07, and 2.67, respectively.
  • The top ten companies in whose debt it has invested majorly are 7.17% GOI 2028 (GOI Securities), National Bank Agr. Rur. Devp 158-D 31/07/2018 (Commercial Paper), 7.72% GOI 2025 (Central Government Loan), ONGC Petro Additions 2021 (Debenture), and 6.84% GOI 2022 with % of allocation being 2.06, 1.85, 1.66, 1.37, and 1.26, respectively.
