Once again iPhone 5 rumors are taking the technology industry by a storm. The market is abuzz with various speculations regarding the features of the much awaited iPhone 5 smartphone. Speculations are rife that the new iPhone may feature just an A6 dual core CPU among other things. The expectation about the quad core A6 CPU to be used in iPhone could also turn out to be a mere speculation as analysts are hopeful about the A6 dual core CPU with the forthcoming iPhone 5.

Previously it was indicated by many of the industry analysts that there will be a quad core A6 processor for both the new iPad and the iPhone 5. Evidently, the new iPad has been launched on March 7 with a dual-core Apple A5X chip with quad-core graphics, so the possibilities for the new iPhone to get a quad core A6 processor is not looking too great.

If the rumor turns out to be reality then it is not a good thing for a company like Apple. Apple is under indirect competitive compulsion to upgrade the processor to be used in the new iPhone to the level of quad core A6.

Processor upgrade has now become a necessity for Apple because iPhone competitors, like Samsung Galaxy S3 is rumored to be introduced soon with a quad core processor. Furthermore, the HTC Edge is also expected to be in the last phase of design and development and most probably the company is planning to release the smartphone with a quad core processor. Amid these products with quad core processor, the dual core chip with the Apple iPhone 5 would definitely be a persuasive reason of sales setback to the company. According to industry experts, Apple should try its best to keep up its innovative trend and meet the expectations of consumers by launching the new iPhone with a quad core A6 chip.

It is of utmost importance to keep products ahead of others in terms of technological innovations. A company like Apple has to first compete with itself before other competitors. If the rumor about the quad core A6 is true then it is not good for the sales prospect of the fifth generation iPhone. At the same time Apple must be trying to launch its products with the best possible technology and they are supposedly trying their best to achieve it. Quad core chip is not the last thing to do in technology as products can be made more attractive even without it. It is expected that the next iPhone will come with many new features and utilities to not only retain their old consumers but also make new ones.
