Is Atma the smallest part of our existence?

Ambalal Muljibhai Patel, who later became a Gnani Purush (the Enlightened One), sharing his experience of school days, says, “In my maths class, the teacher had asked the students to find the smallest indivisible number, which is common to all other numbers (LCM = lowest common multiple). From this search, I immediately discovered God. We are all ‘numbers’ and God (Atma) is within each one of us in an indivisible form.” So, yes! Atma is indeed the smallest indivisible part of our existence and is within each one of us However, it doesn't mean that it is the smallest in size. The Soul's size in an elephant is as huge as an elephant and that in an ant is as tiny as an ant? Let’s read on to know some more about the Soul (Atma): a)Atma is subtlernThe Atma is very subtle; therefore, it is not palpable! It cannot be caught on camera, nor is it visible to the eyes. You cannot even see it through a microscope, binocular, or any other instrument. Even if it were surrounded by flames, the flames would not touch it. That is how subtle it is. b)Where in the body is the Soul present?rnThe Soul is everywhere in the body but not in the grown hair or nails; it is not in the part of the nail that we clip or the hair we cut off. If someone cuts your hair in your sleep, you would not know it because there is no Soul there. But in the places where there is Atma, you would feel the prick of a pin right away. c)Atma is indivisible and formlessrnThe Soul cannot be broken into pieces or divided into portions. Anything that has a form (roop) will always have a part. However, Atma is formless (aroopi); it has no form. d)Atma is omnipresentrnThe light of the Atma is omnipresent, but not the Atma itself. The light of an electric bulb illuminates the whole room, however, it is the light and not the bulb that spreads throughout the entire room. The bulb is in its own place only. Only in the final lifetime, in the final body, when the Atma becomes the Absolute Soul (Parmatma), does it become fully exposed, and enters the state of final liberation. This is when the light of the Absolute Soul spreads throughout the Universe! What is amazing about this is that the intensity of the light does not decrease anywhere! Is there a way to Know Atma and Experience it?rnThere is a lot more to know about Atma. There are two ways to know it. One way is to read scriptures, understand and know through the intellect. But it is meaningful only when we experience it. It is like no matter how much we understand through intellect that the taste of sugar is sweet, but it has no meaning unless we experience its sweetness. Similarly, we may know that Atma is subtle, formless, indivisible, and so on, but it is important to experience it. And for that, we need some Gnani Purush (the Enlightened One) who has the power to give us that experience. We can achieve Self-realization from such Gnani and experience all the Soul properties like Infinite Knowledge, Infinite Vision, Infinite Bliss, Infinite Energy, and so on. Shri Ambalal Muljibhai Patel was in the quest of Atma, just like you and me. In 1958, he attained spontaneous Self-realization and then became a Gnani Purush, popularly known as Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan.
