Yes, death is predestined; in fact our entire life is predestined right up to our very final breath! However, it is important to understand this fact correctly so that we do fall prey by misunderstanding and misusing it. Here are a few more facts related to death from the perspective of Spiritual Science:rnDeath is like: When you sew a shirt, you can say that the shirt is created or born and death is inevitable to whatever is born. Anything that is born has to die, and because there is death, there will also be birth. So, death is connected to birth. Wherever there is birth, there is death. However, we really are not the body, but are a Soul that resides within the body. When the Soul leaves the body, the body is announced to be dead. And upon leaving this body, the Soul migrates to another place where one is destined to be born, and here, a new body is formed. This Soul, the life energy, is what we really are! The Soul is an eternal element; it is neither born nor does it die. However, life is not possible without the presence of Soul. \ Our present life is a result of our past life causes and similarly, the next life is determined through our current life causes. ● Celestial Realm: one is born into this realm if one accumulates abundant merit karmas (very good causes). ● Human Realm: when the merit karmas are reasonably more than the demerit karmas, one gets born into this realm. ● Animal Kingdom: when one accumulates a vast amount of demerit karmas, he is born into the animal kingdom. ● Hell: one is born into this realm when one has charged hugely extreme demerit karmas. Cause and effect, effect and cause leads to a perpetual cycle of birth and rebirthrnEvery circumstance that we encounter in this life is a projection of the karmas that were sown by us in our past life. During the entire course of our life, a discharge of past karmas (good or bad) is constantly happening, one-by-one. However, at the time of discharge, we are constantly charging new karmas as well. The nature of the new karmas that we charge in this life depends upon our inner intent and how we choose to react to the circumstances we encounter. When we have good intentions, good karmas are charged and when not, then bad karmas get charged. Good karmas are called merit karmas whereas bad karmas are known as demerit karmas. It is possible to be liberated from the endless cycle of birth and rebirth when one stops charging any karmas, and this is possible only in the human life form.rnLiberation is attained in two steps: The first step towards liberation happens when we attain the grace of an Enlightened One and acquire from him the knowledge of the Self – pure Soul. It is then that we understand, really ‘Who am I?’ and recognise who is the real doer in this world? After Self-realisation, new karmas cease to bind, and we begin to experience a life, free from suffering and misery. However, the discharge karmas do remain, which have to be suffered. But now that we have attained the right understanding, we begin to remain unaffected by these karmas. The second and final step of liberation is when our discharge karmas too cease to exist. Then, we get liberated from the perpetual cycle of birth and death and therefore reside in our bliss forever. The Soul is bound by the karmic coverings that lie over the Soul since time immemorial. These karmas delude our vision. It is only after we happen to meet an Enlightened One, that we realise that ‘I am Pure Soul’, and thereafter become free from the continuous cycle of birth and death.
