Is getting Moksha and going to heaven one and the same thing?

No, it is not the same thing. Each is a different destination! Once a person attains Nirvana i.e. the last death after which there is no rebirth, the Soul goes to Moksha and resides forever in the Siddha Kshetra. Only the Absolute liberated Souls are able to reach this place! They are not embodied and hence have no senses (the five senses). They are called Parmatma. They are in the form of Absolute Vision, Absolute Knowledge and Absolute Energy, which are the properties of the Absolute Soul. On the other hand, those going to heaven live amidst endless sensual pleasures. Their regular meals are even more lavish than those at our weddings. Everything is fancy and elaborate there. Most of the celestial beings get fed up of eating such meals every day and would want some simple food. The living beings residing in heaven generally do not prefer to come down to Earth, for it is too dirty and smelly as compared to heaven, where the best of perfumes are naturally in use. However the spiritually elevated celestial beings love to come and attend programmes conducted on this Earth, where the Gnanis and Tirthankaras are present. Gnanis are the Spiritual Masters, who are Self-Enlightened and who impart the right knowledge to achieve liberation to others; and Tirthankaras are the Absolute Lords, are fully Enlightened beings, who can liberate others so that they can go to moksha. rnSo the celestial Gods and Goddesses come to Earth to specially listen to the spiritual discourses of Gnanis and Tirthankaras. They are unable to attain Moksha from Tirthankara, while they are residents of heaven. It is because one can go to Moksha only when one takes birth as a human being, and that too on a living planet where Tirthankara resides. Without the presence of Tirthankara, no one can attain moksha. This is a Natural law! Currently, on our Earth, there are no Tirthankaras, and it will take long many years before a Tirthankara can exist here. But fortunately, we have Gnani on our Earth!
