We all know that sinking feeling when you realize that the wedding is only 3 weeks away and you are way to big to fit into that dress. Maybe its an important party or a beach holiday, but when you realize that you need to lose weight and lose it quickly then it can be a bit overwhelming. For the most part we've been lead to believe that weight loss is a long and hard process. The reality is that it is, but this exactly where weight loss products focus their efforts. If someone come to you with the promise of getting rid of 10 pounds overnight, the temptation is often just too big to try it. After all, they won't say that it works if it doesn't? And so you start rationalizing your purchase and before you know it you are on the next miracle FAD diet that will make you lose 10 pounds overnight - without you having to diet or do any exercise. Fail. No matter how advanced a diet or miracle product claims to be the reality is that there is not scientific way that those instant fat loss products can work. The testimonials are usually paid for and the models probably never even heard of the product that they claim gave them that body. The reality is that the models probably spend months in the gym and have an impeccable lifestyle and diet to get that body. I'm not dishing all weight loss programs or products. Some do work and many people need that guidance to help them reach their goals. What I am trying to bring home is the fact that "instant weight loss" is a fallacy. You can do it but it will probably happen with the help of a surgeon rather than a pill. So-called detox diets are commonly sold as a 1-week weight loss program but the truth is that it only makes you lose weight and not far. If you flush out your body then the scale will almost certainly show that you are lighter. The problem is that its not fat loss and that its not a permanent solution. So what does all this boil down to? Stop chasing the quick fix. You can spend a lifetime jumping from quick fix solution to quick fix solution or you can dig your heals in and start doing it properly. Healthy weight loss is not instant but it will leave you with a permanent solution and a lifestyle that supports it.
